Captain Brian Larrosa was born in Cuba but grew up in Puerto Rico. His Whole life has been close to the sea, participating in activities such as surfing, freediving and fishing. In addition, his family has always had boats in which he learned how to navigate, handle and dock. His family always said that was his hidden passion, which then eventually lead him to be heavily invested in a few charter yachts in the Caribbean.
After retiring from the US Army as Sergeant ((E-5) 13F, 11B) in 2014, Brian moved to Miami where he started his yachting career in South Florida. He worked himself up in the ranks, all the way to captain on heavily chartered yachts up to 47 meters. He currently holds an STCW endorsed USCG Master 200GT license with a 500ITC endorsement and currently working towards the USCG Master 500GT with the 1600ITC endorsement. Brian has worked on well known yachts such as Palmer Johnson, Westport, Burger, Trinity, Feadship, from the deck team to engineering.
In all these years, besides providing an excellent service on charters, from a chief officer position all the way to captain position, Brian has gained massive experience in crew management, hiring, contracts and a full understanding of the MLC. He also developed great awareness for owners and guests needs while on charter, making him a great yacht consultant for those seeking a charter program. In addition to the guest and crew side of the vessel, Brian has great knowledge in engineering, diesel mechanics and troubleshooting issues for his clients. Through his career, he has done multiple refits and new build consulting. Clients understand the value of having someone that knows The Large Yacht Code, ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, STCW and MARPOL regulations, in which Brian is fluent in.
His most recent project was a new build, 38 meter Motor-yacht for a client which he has been consulting for some time. Aside from input in the build, he was able to create a program in the navigable waters of the Pacific NW, Sea of Cortez, Central Pacific, Caribbean, Bahamas and New England.
