Enrique Calderas

Enrique Calderas was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela where he grew up in a boating family, often island hopping around the Caribbean.

Whenever he was not on a boat, he dreamed of being on one as he spent hours a day designing yachts with pen and paper in between classes. He went to high school in Switzerland, which he calls the most beautiful land-locked country on Earth. Then he attended college in Bentley where he got a BS in Finance.

In 2014, Enrique moved to Miami where he reconnected with his passion for boating and life at sea. He got his MBA from University of Miami and then dove head-first into the marine industry by co-founding a marine IoT startup.

He has been heavily involved in the Miami boating ecosystem for the past 7 years and has turned it into a career. He enjoys managing his own boat (65’ Motoryacht) and helping his friends and clients spend less time worrying and more time enjoying their boats.

Naturally, he got his brokerage license in order to be able to better guide his clients and friends through their boating journey.

Enrique has vast knowledge of production motor yachts from the Americas as well as Italian and British origin.

On his days off, he can be found tournament fishing around South Florida with team Utopia, playing paddle tennis or on his bicycle putting the miles in. His success as an early-stage founder in the marine industry got him to be recruited by the fastest growing marine startup to be the General Manager for Florida at Boatsetter.

He now spends most of his time chatting with captains, boat owners and commercial charter operators to strategize and assist them in growing peer-to-peer boat rentals. He also holds an OUPV US Coast Guard Captain’s License.

Enrique’s unique background and vast knowledge gives him an edge in advising his clients to find their dream boat.
